Our film festival services help you along the way of your movie’s afterlife.
We are strongly committed to send each of the film projects personalised to specific
film festivals, markets and pitch contests where the story, genre, target group func-
tions the best.
We are interested in:
• Early stage,
• Work-in-progress projects,
• Final cuts.
Thus you have the opportunity not only to submit your completed film, but also its
midlife process and the final draft of your script to us, where we can already evaluate
the future of the project right from the start - therefore it’s a great opportunity also to
recommend either pitch competitions to you in the early process already.
Hence you have the potential to expose your work to even more platforms right after
the script development.
Do not hesitate to submit your project to our email address with an offline link and
password, or the script in a pdf version. Following this we will contact you to arrange a
conversation, where we can evaluate the right festival platforms while we always con-
centrate on your specific needs.
That’s exactly we would like to change. At the moment we are focusing mainly to art-house cinemas thus to a specific target audience, since we are engaged to spread valuable, universal independent works that can’t be seen in many places. Our aim is to screen international shorts and documentaries that are in great contrast with Nordic films (and vice versa) in terms of film language - these projects could re- flect to the filmmaker’s own society, politics and culture. Reaching this, we are always looking for new, talented, innovative shorts and docu- mentaries in any genre, hence our participation in relevant global film markets and festivals are crucial, where we can look at your work, mingle and get to know each other.

We are very proud to have all these strong and recognised film partners, organisations and companies at Phaeton’s flag. Our company is fully engaged to have a specific, strong partnership with each of them for a valuable, profitable long-term collaboration. These partnerships do not meet only the classic business criteria, but also create artistic exchanges and real interactions through our cooperation with the filmmakers.
Phaeton Nordics is a Danish film production and distribution start-up company, founded by director and photographer Kristof Z. Markovics. When Kristof attended in several film festivals and had networking with his own productions globally, recognized a great need to distribute short and documentary projects in any genre to the global and Nordic film market, connecting local and international filmmakers. After having dozens of conversations with Nordic filmmakers, there is a great need to have a regional film company who focus also to film festival distribution, since filmmakers don't have enough time and in many cases even knowledge to submit their films to the right film festivals nor don't have the proper insight to sell and screen their work in the global film market. Therefore lot of valuable, potential film projects can't be seen in the industry, since they miss the opportunity to have a global showcase. Throughout our services we are determined to increase the chance to pass valuable and potential film projects to the global industry film market. While we are collaborating with filmmakers and productions, our company is attending also in some of the most relevant international film festivals and markets. Therefore we are determined to build up our network with great talents, clients and partners to create a strong, market leader brand in Denmark.
Hungarian-born Kristof Z. Markovics has been living in Denmark for more than 7 years and directed, photographed couple of fiction, documentary and commercial projects, and worked in camera departments in the Danish film industry.Kristof was a remote screener member in the pre-selection team of Oscar-qualified Woodstock Film Festival, US in 2023, where he had an exclusive insight to the current visual trends and contemporary film language worldwide, which gave a great experience to navigate potential filmmakers even better to the film festival market.Kristof was nominated and awarded as Best Director in Canada and Denmark, winner of a pitch contest in Danish film festival Guldægget, and his previous Danish short films were officially selected, nominated and awarded in several film festivals globally, including Denmark, Finland, Canada, Mexico, Hungary and so on.
